Sitecore

Technology in service of the outcome.

Design content and experience-platform programmes around shared components, publishing workflows and a clear relationship between content, data and channels.

Sitecore programmes often begin with a publishing problem: teams cannot reuse content across markets, changes depend on specialist developers, or the experience platform has become difficult to upgrade. Emerge connects content modelling, frontend engineering and marketing operations so the next version supports both the customer journey and the people maintaining it. We work from the installed estate and its dependencies, including existing XM or XP implementations and the proposed route toward SaaS or headless delivery.

Sitecore’s current portfolio is presented through SitecoreAI. Existing product names still matter when assessing licences, integrations and migration paths. We distinguish the content platform from search, asset management and commerce services, including OrderCloud where API-led commerce is the appropriate fit. The architecture should explain how these services cooperate without assuming they are a single interchangeable product.

Choose the right starting point

Product expertise, in detail.

Content platform architecture

Reusable components, structured content, editorial workflow and multilingual publishing built around actual author tasks.

XM, XP and SaaS modernisation

An estate-specific upgrade or migration assessment that accounts for customisation, data dependencies and the current SitecoreAI direction.

Headless experience delivery

Frontend and content API integration with preview, caching, routing and measurable customer-journey performance.

OrderCloud integration

API-led commerce architecture connecting catalogue, accounts and orders with the systems that own business rules.

Search and asset workflows

Product and content discovery, asset metadata and indexing responsibilities across the selected platform services.

The starting point

What needs to change.

  • A component library can become an expensive collection of near-duplicates when every market creates its own template. We identify reusable content types, useful editorial variation and the exceptions that genuinely require different presentation or workflow.

  • Existing personalisation and analytics dependencies can be hidden in templates, rules or custom code. Moving a frontend without understanding those dependencies risks losing targeting behaviour, measurement or authenticated journeys even when the new pages look correct.

  • Commerce and content teams need different controls. Editorial preview should not accidentally expose contractual pricing or unpublished stock changes, and a content publishing incident should not change which system owns order acceptance.

What we deliver

From opportunity to working systems.

01

Authoring that scales across markets

We model pages, reusable content and assets before developing templates. Editors validate preview, approval, translation and publication tasks using realistic content, including long titles, missing images and region-specific legal material.

02

Experience platform modernisation

We inventory custom modules, integrations, scheduled jobs, analytics requirements and hosting assumptions. Each dependency receives a supported destination or an explicit retirement decision before a cutover plan is approved.

03

Composable commerce

We separate storefront experience from product, price, availability and order authority. APIs carry the required customer context, with deliberate access boundaries and a reconciliation path for transactions that cannot complete synchronously.

Implementation design

How the pieces work together.

  1. Content delivery and preview are different paths

Public delivery uses cacheable content and carefully managed invalidation. Author preview must show the intended unpublished state without exposing it publicly. We test both paths because a fast live site with unreliable preview slows the editorial team.

  2. Migration is a relationship problem

Pages reference components, media, taxonomy and language variants. We migrate those relationships as a connected graph, preserve stable identifiers where practical, and test representative content families before treating raw item counts as completion.

Decisions to make early

Avoid a lift-and-shift assumption

XM or XP customisation does not automatically transfer to a SaaS architecture. We assess the required behaviour and select a supported implementation rather than preserving code whose original hosting assumptions no longer hold.

Scope each service deliberately

Search, commerce, digital assets and AI capabilities have their own entitlements and configuration requirements. We validate availability in the selected product package and region before including them in the delivery commitment.

Our approach

A clear path into delivery.

Start with the business problem. Make each stage useful, reviewable and owned.

  1. 01

Discovery produces a Sitecore estate map, editorial task inventory, dependency assessment and target architecture. The recommended path explains which platform services are required, which existing capabilities remain necessary and what changes for authors and operators.

  2. 02

A representative slice proves content creation, approval, preview, publication, delivery and measurement. Where commerce is in scope, the slice also verifies account access, catalogue context and a complete test order through the integration boundary.

  3. 03

Migration rehearsals validate content relationships, URLs, media and permissions. Release readiness includes redirect checks, accessibility, cache invalidation and fallback behaviour. Handover provides an author playbook, component guidance, deployment records and clear ownership of search indexing and integration incidents.

Practical questions

Before we begin.

Can we retain our existing frontend during a Sitecore migration?

Potentially. We assess its content contracts, preview dependencies, personalisation and deployment model. A staged API transition may preserve the frontend while content operations change, provided both versions can be tested and operated during the overlap.

How do you measure whether the authoring experience improved?

We agree representative tasks such as launching a localised campaign or updating a shared asset. Acceptance checks successful completion, required permissions, preview accuracy and publish behaviour, alongside training and support needs.
