Cloud and AI operations

Metered cloud and AI services

The cloud you choose. The consumption you can see.

Emerge selects, builds and runs cloud and AI services around your workload, then supplies them through a managed consumption model. Connect usage, cost allocation and billing to one accountable operating team across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Cloudflare.

The starting point

What needs to change.

  • Cloud and AI usage grows across providers, projects and customers, while invoices give finance an incomplete view of who used what and why.

  • Product teams need to package infrastructure and AI into services their customers can consume, with usage records that support reliable billing.

  • Business owners need cost control, clear operating responsibility and a way to relate consumption to the workflow it supports.

What we deliver

From opportunity to working systems.

01

Choose services for the workload

Select compute, storage, data, AI models and edge services against your requirements for performance, residency, integration and cost. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Cloudflare sit in the same selection framework; an existing cloud commitment can remain part of the design.

02

Meter the units that matter

Capture provider consumption and application activity, then define billable units such as API calls, model tokens, processing jobs, storage or transactions. Keep raw usage, unit definitions and calculation rules traceable.

03

Allocate costs and control spend

Map consumption to customer, team, project or product. Add agreed budgets, alerts and approval rules, with reports that distinguish provider costs, managed-service charges and the cost of each useful unit of work.

04

Sell and reconcile managed consumption

Emerge can supply selected cloud and AI services through an agreed metered commercial model. For your own products, connect usage to customer billing, internal chargeback or showback. Define rates, billing periods, credits, reconciliation and responsibility for exceptions before launch.

05

Run the service with clear ownership

Connect provisioning, access controls, monitoring, incident handling and change management to named operating owners. Agree data handling, retention and service expectations for each workload, then review cost and reliability together.

06

Make value visible alongside cost

Bring consumption and cost measures into the engagement's operating view, including Vela where appropriate. Compare them with agreed delivery and business measures, keeping estimated benefits and measured outcomes distinct.

Our approach

A clear path into delivery.

Start with the business problem. Make each stage useful, reviewable and owned.

  1. 01

Start with the workload, existing cloud and model choices, expected consumption and the commercial outcome you need.

  2. 02

Define the service boundary, metering units, allocation model, data controls and operating responsibilities. Agree the managed-service and billing terms for the selected products.

  3. 03

Connect usage sources and billing, then reconcile representative records and test budget alerts, missing events and corrections before live charging.

  4. 04

Launch with a clear operating owner and review consumption, cost per unit, service performance and opportunities to improve the workload.
